CMA responds quickly and efficiently to disasters in Kenya, South Sudan and Uganda with aid and relief. Our efforts are predominantly based in South Sudan, where poor health is a crippling factor for many. People lack basic hygiene knowledge and health facilities are not readily accessible - or worse yet, there are no health facilities.
Since 1993, CMA’s health care program has been working in the remote area of Upper Nile running several health care centers (PHCCs) and several health care units (PHCUs). CMA clinics are the only form of health care in these areas and are crucial in treatment early medical intervention and management of outbreaks. In 2007, CMA treated 52,896 people both inpatient and outpatient and successfully contained a cholera outbreak that had affected 472 individuals .
