Responding to the HIV/AIDS crisis in Kenya |

Seven hundred deaths daily and over two million orphaned children. These are some of the shocking statistics reflecting the magnitude of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Kenya. Most people living with HIV/AIDS not only face stigma, but are also very poor. They can hardly afford one meal a day, let alone buy medicine to fight opportunistic infections.
Christian Mission Aid’s HIV/AIDS program in Nyanza, Kenya, the area with the highest prevalence in the nation, provides the community with vital life-saving and transforming information on HIV/AIDS, provides counseling services and home based care as well as supporting widows and orphans. With support from our donors, Christian Mission Aid is building houses for widows and their children, in addition to providing them with milking goats for milk production and income generation. |
