Christian Mission Aid (CMA) is a faith-based inter-denominational relief and development organization challenged to meet the needs of people not reached by other organizations. We strive for accountability in all that we do, for our generous donors and partner agencies.
CMA is incorporated in Kenya as an international organization under the Company’s Act (since 1986) and Kenya’s NGO Coordination Act (since 1994). It is registered in Uganda (1996) and Sudan (2007) under the appropriate legal authorities in these countries. CMA is also registered in the USA (1991) as a private voluntary organization with charitable status and in Canada (2004), also as a registered charity.
The mandate of CMA in the United States and Canada is to educate and engage supporters in CMA’s mission and to network with North American organizations, groups and individuals who want to partner with CMA in Africa. Through this approach CMA USA and CMA Canada helps to raise funds for the ministries and programs of CMA in Africa.
CMA is governed by Boards of Directors in each country in which it is registered, in compliance with the laws governing charitable organizations and international NGOs in each country.
As an organization with affiliates in USA, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan as well as Canada, we have developed administrative, accounting, procurement and financial management practices that enable clear accountability to donors and funding partners including individuals, faith-based groups and international agencies. Each affiliate completes annual audits.,
Maximizing Resources for Those in Need
To resource our programs, we draw on a variety of partnerships and donors. To fund Christian outreach and children’s ministries, we raise funds from individuals, churches and faith-based groups in the USA and Canada. Our Sudan aid & relief and community development programs are funded by multilateral and bilateral agencies and NGO partners from Europe, USA and Canada, as well as by individuals, churches and faith based groups
To achieve our purposes, CMA USA and CMA Canada raise funds from individuals, evangelical churches, private groups and Christian NGOs. Donations from individuals, churches and private groups remain vital for a quick response to emergencies and to help fund our other ministries.
In the United States and Canada, we maximize each dollar donated by minimizing overhead expenses, so that more funds can be transferred to help our African ministries. In Africa, committed Christian leaders working in their own communities enable small amounts of financial assistance to reach many very poor people. Each dollar received for our overseas ministries, actually leverages an additional $5 – $10 worth of support from local government departments and benefitting communities.
Christian Mission Aid’s Statement of Faith
We Believe …
In the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures.
In one Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
In the Lord Jesus Christ.
That man was created in the image of God.
In humankind’s need of salvation: The Lord Jesus Christ died and shed His blood as a sacrifice for the sins of humankind, and that all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood.
That salvation is a free gift of God.
That all who receives by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
In the responsibility of the believer, motivated by love for Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, to give witness of Jesus Christ, and to live in a manner that the Gospel may be proclaimed to all the world.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does CMA consider as it’s most important ministry?
The “heart” of CMA is Christian outreach. Through this ministry, we provide leadership training seminars and other support to church leaders and pastors, to help them meet the spiritual, social and physical needs of their communities. CMA’s training helps Christian leaders become effective evangelists and disciplined servant leaders able to spiritually grow their churches and reach non-believers with His Word. It prepares them to competently fill leadership roles in their churches and communities. By “investing” in leaders, CMA creates harmony among different churches, advocates for peace between communities and link’s communities with government services.

As a part of the group of registered Christian Mission Aid (CMA) organizations in Africa, the United States and Canada, CMA in the United States and Canada have established a joint ministry agreement is to govern the administration of our financial contributions and other support for the ministries in Africa. In Africa, we work in the name of Christian Mission Aid (CMA) and we have well established structures and effective managerial and technical personnel to implement ministry activities in Africa.
3. What help does CMA give the beneficiaries of its programs?
Spiritually, CMA helps Christian leaders and their churches to deepen their knowledge of the Bible and His Word. The first effect of this is better organized, stronger and growing churches, and many new churches that are planted and develop at their own pace. The second effect is strong advocacy by church leaders with government agencies to bring education, health care, clean water, and food security services to the people who need it most. The third effect is well organized and focused actions by Christian leaders to mobilize local and external resources to solve community problems like water-borne disease, HIV/AIDS, environmental degradation, hunger and abject poverty
4. How does CMA achieve lasting results in the communities it serves?
CMA’s Christian outreach prepares local women and men to lead their communities in social and economic progress. Trained leaders identify critical community problems and ways of defeating these problems. They mobilize resources to solve problems and link people in need with appropriate assistance. The result is a community-driven approach that empowers Christian leaders to guide external assistance to the felt needs of communities suffering from drought, environmental degradation, poor quality drinking water HIV/AIDS and other hardships. Because CMA’s programs have been built on the knowledge, skill and effort of Christian leaders, the results are sustained by them. Committed Christian leaders are the foundation for the success of CMA’s programs. Everything starts from the Christian outreach ministry and that is why Christian outreach is the “heart” of CMA.

7. Does CMA proselytize and evangelize communities?
CMA is not a church, and it does not have a church doctrine. CMA works with all Bible believing churches and trains Christian leaders so that they can teach the Word of God, strengthen their witness to Christ and empower their evangelism. The same Christian leaders implement the Children’s ministries, aid & relief and community development projects, that help all community members regardless of religious belief, ethnicity or gender.
8. What makes CMA different from other organizations?
CMA was founded in Africa. Its ministries and programs are driven by trained African leaders and pastors working in their own communities. With strong local leaders and competent technical managers, CMA is able to leverage substantial contributions from local government and other local sources, multiplying the value of donor funds five to ten times over.
