‘All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.’ Galatians 2:10 (NIV)
Today, we commit South Sudan into prayer, join us as we lay down these needs to God.
1. Join CMA to pray for God’s provision that no child will die of malnutrition.
Malnutrition is one of the leading causes of death among children under five years. Currently, due to the war conflict in South Sudan many children have been left chronically malnourished and starved so severely that they are diminutive.
2. Pray with us for the success of the ongoing vaccination campaigns for Polio and Measles
In the past years, we have made energetic efforts to reach the most unreached areas in South Sudan, to camp base and administer immunization to the children. Most recently, there were reported cases of measles in Nyirol.
3. Remember these victims in your prayers for God’s healing even as the doctor’s treat
“Cases of malnutrition or measles related blindness and lack of services during decades of wars has left a legacy of blindness in Greater Pibor (GPAA) that will take a long time to address with Trachoma still endemic in the area causing about 30% of all the operable cases,” says CMA Eye care Specialist, Dr Sempele.
4. Pray for the increasing hunger gap
Currently, South Sudan is faced with massive food shortage because they have already exhausted their food stock and with the delayed rains, there is very little to cultivate amid the conflict. Whisper a prayer for them for God to make a way.
5. Pray that when it finally rains, the floods will spare us
When flooding occurs, it is not a pretty sight, neither an easy life. In the past, the dwellers have had to wade through water as well as our CMA medical teams to reach the patients.
6. Pray for more Laborers/Hands
At present, CMA is currently the only aid implementing organization largely shouldering the heavy burden in Keew and Juaibor. Kindly let us come together in prayer in solidarity for more help for South Sudan.
7. Pray our 12 pastors in Ministry at South Sudan
In a special way, remember the pastors who went through the CMA leadership program and graduated that God may strengthen them in their heroic and often heartbreaking work. To share the sacred gospel and church teachings on forgiveness and reconciliation and hope that God has not forgotten them.
8. Our CMA Team
Every day, our CMA staffs in South Sudan together with all the teams that request to visit and offer a helping hand continue to immensely amaze us. Even with the scotching sun, the bugs and ongoing war conflict; they risk their lives and put their trust in God, their source of strength. Continue praying for them.
Light a prayer candle for South Sudan and pray for all victims and families that have lost their lives in the ongoing conflict and for those in leadership to forge for peace. Let the anxieties of the perilous times remind them to utterly depend upon God as their refuge and strength as he shows them the path to healing, reconciliation and peace.
10. Pray for donor continuity (Donors and Well Wishers)
By experiencing the seemingly limitless generosity of our donors and well-wishers, we have come to understand more deeply that our Heavenly Father delights to meet our needs through the hands of His children.
James 1:17; “Every good gift comes from above…” and so every prayer of gratitude must be directed ultimately to the Father in heaven who knows and fulfills all of our needs.
