SOUTH SUDAN INTERVENTIONS
South Sudan
The protracted war in South Sudan has brought untold suffering to the people, displacing thousands and disrupting livelihoods. Most areas also suffer from floods making it difficult to plant any crops. The most vulnerable are the children and the elderly who bear the blunt of the resultant famine.
CMA provides food and treats malnourished children, pregnant and lactating mothers and the elderly.
South Sudan has widespread nutrition and medical needs.
NUTRITION
Medical facilities and health care are inexistent in most areas of South Sudan. There are lots of physical trauma cases due to the war, malnourished children due to the prolonged famine, snake bites, scorpion stings, water-bourne diseases such as Malaria, bilharzia, etc, among other tropical diseases. CMA field staff travel far and wide in very challenging environment to deliver these much needed services to the people.
